Chase signs another deal

Fresh on the heels of having signed a 10 year, 3 album deal for 39 countries with AGR/Universal Europe last week, Canadian Country Rocker Kevin Chase has signed another deal, this time with Wind Mobile and it's parent affiliates. The agreement covers ringtones, full tracks, ringback tones, rifftones, monotones, polytones, mp3/Truetones, animations, video clips, wallpapers, such as album artwork and artist pictures, java/mobile games, and applications. “In today’s society, a successful artist has to be available to the fan base on all fronts,” says Chase, “and I am excited to be bringing the Kevin Chase experience to a whole new level through Wind.” Chase continues to work on the first video for the European release of the album “Hold On Tight”, which will hit store shelves there this summer.

Hamburg, Germany/ Saint John, NB, Canada :After signing a deal with Interscope/Universal U.S. last fall, the news for Kevin Chase keeps on getting better. It was announced in Hamburg, Germany this morning that Kevin Chase is bringing his latest collection of songs to European audiences with the multi-national release of "Hold On Tight" through AGR Television Records/Universal. The album contains 14 songs, 8 of which were penned by Kevin Chase himself. "I am extremely excited to be working with AGR to introduce my music to new audiences," says Chase. "We have had a lot of great international feedback to the new album through the internet, but now we can reach people on a much larger scale." "I can't wait to be touring in Europe and to meet many of the fans that have contacted me online and a whole pile of new ones. Connecting with the fans is what it is all about for me, so I will keep my suitcases ready to go," he elaborates with his signature smile. An introductory first single “Outta Sight Outta Mind” will be sent in advance to country radio stations in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands and England by the end of April. The album “Hold On Tight” will be available in stores and for download in the second half of 2011 and will eventually be released to all 39 countries covered by this deal. Chase is currently preparing to shoot his first video for the album release. “The concept is coming together nicely,” says Kevin. “There are a few more location details to be ironed out and then we are ready to go. It will be a blast.”

Larry Carlton wins 4th Grammy

Legendary jazz guitarist and Atlantica Live affiliated artist Larry Carlton has taken home even more gold this year. His collaboration album with Tak Matsumoto, "Take Your Pick" won the Grammy for "Best Instrumental Pop Album". This is Carlton's fourth Grammy win and nineteenth nomination in total. He is also being presented with the George Benson Lifetime Achievement Award at the Wave Awards in Toronto this April.

December Fall Out Earns a Big Win

The Saint John based band December Fall Out has taken the regional win in the Canadian RadioStar contest. The contest has been running for 18 years and is a springboard into the mainstream for a lot of talented bands. DFO will get not just recognition for their win but free gear and a chance to perform at Canadian Music Week. nl-dfoCanadian Music Week is arguably the most important showcase on this side of the border and a chance to perform there means an opportunity to take the songs that are winning fans throughout the Atlantic region, and put them in front of the top opinion leaders and money people in the Canadian Industry. A strong showing for the band there could mean international success for the album DFO! is currently working on at Atlantica Studios. With some regional touring planned for the Spring and Summer, a full length album in the works and industry love on a national scale these young, eager and good-natured guys from Saint John couldn't be happier. The winning song was originally titled “Saint John is too small for Secrets” which is fitting because in the very near future Saint John will be too small to contain DFO!.

The Rogers/Atlantica co-produced television series “Live In the Studio”, which features music and interviews with New Brunswick artists Kevin Chase, December Fall Out, Dee, Mike Biggar and Babette Hayward and has aired on New Brunswick Rogers TV has now gone national on Rogers On Demand. Anyone in Canada with a Rogers account can watch any of the eight shows on Rogers On Demand. Get your friends across Canada to watch the shows, as numbers are important to get the show back on the air for a second season. In addition, these shows provide a great cross section of musical styles by New Brunswick artists. The shows were recorded at Rogers Studios in Saint John last summer with the audio being tracked by and mixed by Atlantica Studios.

Larry Carlton to be honored for lifetime achievement

Grammy Award-winning guitarist and former Fourplay member Larry Carlton will be honored for his career in April at The Wave Awards, formerly known as the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. Carlton, 62, will be presented with the George Benson Lifetime Achievement Award on April 29, 2011, at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, near Toronto. Carlton will also be performing. “We look forward to celebrating the illustrious career of such a unique musical talent who touches on a multitude of genres, blending jazz and rock elements in such an exciting and innovative way,” said Mary Kirk of Wave 94.7 FM Toronto/Hamilton, Ontario, and executive producer of The Wave Awards. Carlton has 18 Grammy nominations and three Grammy awards, including one for the theme music for the TV series Hill Street Blues. He began guitar lessons at age 6 and made his first professional appearance at 14. Carlton's early session work consisted of pop dates with acts like Vicki Carr, Andy Williams and the Partridge Family. Carlton was also prominently featured on albums by Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan and the Crusaders. Today, Carlton has 22 solo albums, including his latest, Greatest Hits Rerecorded, Volume One. His most recent project is Take Your Pick, a Grammy-nominated collaboration with Japanese guitarist Tak Matsumoto. Carlton, a Southern California native, now lives outside Nashville with his wife, vocalist Michele Pillar.

"Take Your Pick" is no stranger to praise. Considered "one of the most significant collaborations of contemporary guitar of all time," the album has acquired numerous positive reviews, shot up the smooth jazz charts to #3, and has sold thousands of copies since its release last summer. The first single from Take Your Pick, Tokyo Night, debuted on Japans charts at #2. The album also just won the award for Best Contemporary Jazz album of the year in Japan.

The long awaited album "Round 3" by Kevin Chase is just about ready to hit the shelves. The first single "A Better Day" went to Canadian Radio and is starting to receive spins. The single will be available on iTunes world-wide on July 1st with the full album to follow a couple of weeks later. The single is also getting select airplay in Australia, Sweden and Holland. As of May 28th, Kevin has been climbing up the My Space Charts as well, ranking as the # 1 Overall Country Artist, the # 1 Indie Country Artist, the # 5 All Genres Indie Artist and the # 10 All Genres Overall Artist. Larry Carlton to play Canada in 2010

18 time Grammy Award Nominee and 3 time Grammy Award Winner Larry Carlton will be touring a hand full of Canadian festivals in 2010.

During the 1970s, Carlton was a busy session musician inLos Angeles, appearing on up to 500 recordings a year, including albums by Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell and Quincy Jones. His loopy, dazzling guitar work on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" from their 1976 LP The Royal Scam has been listed as the third best guitar solo on record by Rolling Stone Magazine. Carlton's impressive list of credits includes appearances on over 100 GOLD albums. DEE releases first full-length CD

Former Canadian Idol Top 11 Finalist and Atlantica Live Management client DEE has released her first solo CD "Crazy Love" world-wide on Atlantica Live Records.

The CD was recorded at Atlantica Studios and was produced by Marc Gosselin.

Prior to the CD launch, Dee signed an agreement with MTV/Viacom International that will see Dee's music featured in upcoming original programming by the global network.
